Unless you have been living under a rock for the last year and half, it’s safe to say you know all about the changes in examinations and education for A-Levels and GCSEs in 2021 brought on by the pandemic. Whether you’re a results waiting student or worried parent, you will be wondering exactly when is A-Level and GCSE Results Day in 2021.
This year, due to the needed changes in examination methods and the experience of 2020, the awarding bodies and Department of Education set the assessment period for both A-Levels and GCSEs earlier. Unlike in previous years where students would now be sitting their examinations, deadlines for work submission were set far earlier and rather than sitting examinations, students grades were again to be based on the work they had completed in the previous months of the academic year and set assessments to assess the student’s ability within the subject.
For many students, the alternate assessment method will prove to be a blessing and mean the usual end of year stress and strain has been removed. But for others, there are still the concerns and worries that they may not have achieved the grades they were hoping to or could have , if they had the chance to sit the examinations.
This year, A-Level and GCSE Results Days are just a couple of days apart. With the A-Level release date being 10th August and GCSE being 12th August. The reason for the earlier release date is to allow for students who are not happy with their grades to then go on and sit the examinations in the autumnal exam series.
If you’re a student who isn’t happy with their grades and who is looking to sit your examinations again, then you do have the option of enrolling with an online college (like Open College) and studying through the summer months to help you improve your knowledge on your chosen subjects and fully prepare yourself for the examinations. Best of all, you don’t even have to wait for Results Day to arrive, if you’re sure you’re going to re-sit your exams as soon as possible, then you can enrol right away and begin studying within hours to ensure you get those all important grades you need.
