The course is designed to enable the student to identify and understand common health conditions that arise within the Healthcare sector and how best to help patients in their care with these.

The student will gain an understanding of monitoring individuals in their care, what observations should be carried out on these individuals and gain an understanding of how to record and report the findings of those observations. This course is a RQF qualification.

The Level 2 Certificate in Common Health Conditions course will focus on six modules of study as follows:

  • Unit 1: Understand how to contribute to monitoring the health of individuals affected by health conditions (2 credits)
  • Unit 2: Introductory awareness of sensory loss (2 credits)
  • Unit 3: Stroke awareness (3 credits)
  • Unit 4: Arthritis awareness (3 credits)
  • Unit 5: Dementia awareness (2 credits)
  • Unit 6: Parkinson’s disease awareness (3 credits)
